ALFAZ town hall has allocated €833,000 for a new Albir access road. It will link the N-332 main road and the Magic Robin Hood park on the CV-753 between Albir and Benidorm and will include a traffic roundabout. Traffic on Cami de la Mar and Avenida de l’Albir will be reduced by an estimated 10 per cent and improve access to the seafront area, town hall spokesman Toni Such said. The compulsory purchase of 9,407 square metres of land had delayed proceedings, he added, and would cost the town hall €7,000 in compensation payouts. The new road would be paid for entirely by the town hall’s budget surplus, he revealed. Drafting the plans was proceeding satisfactorily, Such said. If all goes according to plan, the construction contract will be put out to tender in December and work should commence in the first three months of next year.
