GUARDIA Civil arrested a known drug peddler in Benahadux after finding drugs prepared for sale in his car.
The detention came after a patrol noticed a vehicle parked on a public road with the lights on but no-one inside. Officers identified the owner, as J.E.C.M., an individual with an extensive record for drugs-related offences.
A few minutes later the owner appeared. When he saw the Guardia he became clearly nervous, prompting suspicions he could be hiding illegal substances.
Officers frisked the suspect and searched the car. It turned out he had a plastic bag containing 40 grammes of hashish divided up into doses concealed in his clothing and €155 in cash.
He has been charged with a crime against public health.
