RAFA Nadal inspired Spain to reach the Davis Cup final with a breathtaking doubles defeat against Great Britain at the Davis Cup in Madrid, Spain last night.
Great Britain missed out on a place in the Davis Cup final after two of Spain’s veteran left-handers, Rafael Nadal and Feliciano Lopez, edged out Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski in a heart-breaking defeat.
The Britons were beaten 7-6, 7-6 in a dramatic match which finished at 12.35am local time.
The Spanish pair then sparked joyous scenes at the Caja Mágica indoor arena in Madrid, where they will now face Canada in the final.
A win would mean that this is the first time since 2011 that Spain has won the coveted cup.
