A DELEGATION FROM the Costa Blanca has been in Barcelona this week to promote the region as an ideal conference and company trip destination.
Members of the tourist board, the Diputacion de Alicante and the provincial hospitality and business sector attended the IBTM World trade fair, a major international event for the global meetings, incentives, conferences and events industry, to build contacts with agencies specialising in the field
The provincial government said the Costa Blanca has this year been strengthening its meetings, incentives, conferencing and exhibitions product through different promotional strategies.
This has included attending the M&I Forum in Benidorm, which attracted nearly 500 congress agencies from around the world. The tourist board was also at the IMEX trade fair in Frankfurt and the MCE South Europe workshop in Valencia.
Alicante airport’s more than 120 connections to European cities is a major plus point for business travellers, the provincial government points out. Also in the Costa Blanca’s favour is the numerous business tourism support companies in the region, including activity organisers, transport firms, audiovisual services and reception agencies.
