Fighting deadly caterpillars in Benahavis Costa de Sol

Action to inject into the heart of the pines Credit: Ayuntamiento de Benahavis

WITH support from Malaga Provincial Council, the Benahavis Council has for the fourth year running taken action against the threat of the pine processionary caterpillar.

Some 251 pine trees situated in parks and public areas of the town have been treated by the injection of a special safe chemical into the threes themselves.

Over the past three years, this proven to be an ideal way of blocking the areas were the larvae are normally laid.

Dog owners in particular will be pleased that these dangerous pests are being dealt with.
