A 50-year-old woman was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation after a fire in an abandoned Benalmadena (Costa del Sol) hotel on Monday.
Firefighters have confirmed that this was not the first time that a fire has been recorded in this building. The emergency 112 line received a call about 3.30 pm reporting that smoke and flames were coming from the building in calle Manuel Mena Palma in Arroyo de la Miel. It was unknown if there was anyone inside.
The National Police Force, the Public Health Emergency Company (EPES), the fire brigade and the Local Police of Benalmádena were immediately notified.
Health sources have reported that the woman was been transferred to the High Resolution Hospital of Benalmádena, but the Euro Weekly News was unable to confirm her condition.
