CUEVAS del Almanzora Mayor Antonio Fernandez Liria said he was delighted with the success of this year’s fiesta in honour of patron saint San Diego de Alcala.
Commenting after the six day-celebration came to a close on Sunday, the Mayor highlighted the “massive” public turnout and especially the “great atmosphere” in the municipal marquee.
He also pointed to the popularity of the live peformances by the bands Baron Rojo, Celtas Cortos and Efecto Pasillo, which filled the multi-uses warehouse.
Fernandez praised the hard work of everyone involved in the fiesta organisation, including the council festivals department, works and services personnel and the security forces, who he said along with the great programme of events “mean our fiesta has become one of the most important in the region.”
