His Excellency Hugh Elliott will visit the Costa del Sol for the 5th Brexit seminar on 20 November 2019

Britain´s new Ambassador to Spain His Excellency Hugh Elliott will visit the Costa del Sol to give the keynote at Manilva’s fifth Brexit seminar next week.

The seminar will be held at Villa Matilde Sabinillas, Avenida Leopoldo Alas Clarin 51, 29692 Manilva on Wednesday 20 November from 5.50-7.30pm. There is no need to register beforehand.

British Consul Charmaine Arbouin will also be present, along with the Mayors of Manilva, Casares and San Roque, together with Derek A Langley, Regional Vice President of the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain, Alex Radford of My Lawyer in Spain and Joni Burnett, representative of the Colegio de Administradores de Fincas de Malaga.

Ms Arbouin said: “The Embassy and Consulate are delighted to take part in this, the fifth seminar that Manilva has put on to keep its residents informed.

“As a result many UK nationals have already registered as residents and exchanged their driving licences, but we know that others still have questions about what action they need to take.

“In the meantime, I urge all UK nationals to stay up to date with the latest news by signing up for email alerts to the Living in Spain guide on gov.uk and following our Brits in Spain channel on Facebook.”

This will be Mr Elliott´s first official visit to the area since his appointment in August. A member of the UK’s Diplomatic Service since 1989, he succeeded Simon Manley as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Spain and non-resident Ambassador to Andorra.

The Ambassador takes up this new role having previously been Director of Communications in the Department for Exiting the European Union.
