A GUARDIA Civil control on vehicles in Nijar led to a drugs bust.
When officers pulled over the car on an access road to a night spot in Los Escullos the two occupants voluntarily showed them a packet of tobacco containing two marijuana buds, claiming it was for personal use.
But suspicious the pair could be hiding something the officers decided to carry out a more thorough inspection of the vehicle.
Sure enough, they found a sealed plastic bag containing 10 grammes of cocaine and 12 grammes of speed. And when they frisked the driver they found he was carrying a large amount of cash, in fact €1,350.
As a result the officers arrested 33-year old D.O.C. and 35-year old B.B.M. for a crime against public health.
