Slow day for anglers in Teulada-Moraira

THE Teulada-Moraira Fishing Club’s most recent outing was to the River Jucar’s Section E1.
Bright clear skies saw temperatures rise from 12 degrees in the early morning to just over 24 degrees by mid-afternoon.
Water temperature was a steady 17 degrees and conditions were apparently perfect with the colour of the water gradually approaching normal after last month’s rains.
This was the club’s second match of the season on the lower sections of the Jucar and hopes were high for an improvement on previous weeks but action was slow through the first half of the match, with members taking only single fish.
The second half saw a slight improvement, especially for Graham Sewell who took three fish in the last half-hour, including one beautiful common carp weighing 4.2 kilos.
Graham Sewell had the best day’s fishing with four fish totalling 8.95 kilos with Frank Povey at the bottom of the list with three fish weighing in at 4.7 kilos.
The club, which is very friendly, is always happy to welcome new members with further information available from Frank Povey (96 649 0338 and Email frank.povey@btopenworld.comor Ray Craig (966 492 083).
