A MAN aged 63 has been arrested for allegedly entering Malaga’s Centre for the Protection of Minors bringing ‘gifts’ then propositioning a teenage girl for sex.
A member of staff at the centre centre called Local Police who arrived to find the man, beer in hand, talking to three girls.
Police were told that the man had started to visit a teenage girl at the centre persistently.
The girls explained to the officers that the detainee started going to the juvenile centre more than a month ago. They reported that, as the days went by, his visits increased and that, lately, he was going almost daily.
The person in charge of the centre told the local police that the suspect had started roaming around the neighbourhood and had been looking through the centre’s windows and knocked on its door.
He also said that the suspect was trying to communicate with the minors in an “insistent and repetitive” manner.
The teenagers, between 15 and 17 years of age, corroborated the account of the events made by the person in charge. In addition, one of them insisted that the man had a special fixation towards her.
The 15-year-old girl told officers that the man had given her several gifts while suggesting that she have sex with him.
Specifically, according to her version, he had given her a bag full of necklaces and other jewellery items.
On the other hand, local police also took the suspect’s statement. The man insisted that he is very lonely and that he is only looking for company, approaching the centre to “recite poetry to the minors.”
