Tolox -
POLICE are investigating the suspicious death of a 58-year-old Belgian woman whose body was found showing signs of violence in a farmhouse inland from the Costa del Sol.
A call was put through to the 112 emergency line at 5.20 pm yesterday (November 12) saying there was a woman apparently unconscious in the property in the Pecho del Molino area of Tolox.
Guardia Civil and medics arrived to find the unnamed woman was dead.
Francisca Garcia, a councillor in the town in the Sierra de las Nieves town confirmed that the woman had died violently and lived in a farmhouse. “He said: “It’s an area where there are many foreigners who usually make a fairly independent living.”
Garcia met the deceased woman a month ago, when the victim went to Tolox Town Hall. He said: “She came to ask for an IBI receipt and I attended to her personally. She wouldn’t have been living in Tolox for long because it was the first time I had seen her. She was a very polite, very correct lady and we talked for a while about her concern for animals. It’s a very sad and very unpleasant situation.”
