THERE was a moving tribute to the fallen at Saint George’s Anglican Church in Malaga on the Costa del Sol for Remembrance Sunday.
Members of the RAFA Costa Del Sol Branch attended the service and Parade of Standards. They were joined by British Consul Charmaine Arbouin and representatives from all the services.
Wreath layers included the Consul, Jack Griggs (Chairman of The RAFA Costa Del Sol), Nevin Cloke (Royal British Legion), Keith Bamber (Royal Navy) and Pedro Groves (RAOB).
Wreaths were laid at the war graves of:
Commander Wallace Douglas Stranack (Royal Navy) Flying Officer John MacGregor Maughan Patterson (Royal Australian Air Force), Sergeant Francis William Calladine (Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve) and Sergeant Albert Arthur Ross (Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve).
This year a special Carved Poppy wreath was laid by Former Royal Engineer Neil Ward and his Daughter Nellie Jean, which is to be kept for future use by Saint George’s Church.
