FUGITIVE CAPTURED: The Brit was on the run from police in the UK

IN the latest in a series of blows against drug traffickers a Moroccan fugitive wanted by the French authorities has been arrested in Marbella. 

National Police detained the 42-year-old man in Puerto Banus in Marbella on a European Arrest Warrant. 

He is wanted in France on drug trafficking and membership of a criminal organisation charges.  

The fugitive R.M., born in Nador (Morocco), was in a bar whith two thers when police identified and arrested. 

According to the warrant, the fugitive was part of a criminal organisation engaged in large-scale drug trafficking from Morocco to Spain and then on to France. He was allegedly in charge of receiving drugs once they reached Spain and then storing them in Catalonia before sending them on to Marseilles. 

He was allegedly the intermediary between the Moroccan producers and the final buyers in Marseilles, being the only point of contract between them. 

In addition, he was in charge of giving the go ahead for the transport of the narcotics once he had received payment. The French investigating magistrate is asking for him to be jailed for 30 years. 

He is now in a Spanish court’s custody while awaiting extradition.
