New slant on centuries-old Fair

HERICK CAMPOS ARTESEROS was one of the first visitors to Teulada-Moraira’s stand at the Ondara Fair.

Campos is the head of the regional government’s Tourism department and while at the local stand met Teulada-Moraira’s Tourism councillor, Adrian Ruiz, and the department’s employees.

This was the 34th edition of the Ondara Fair which continues until November 24 and is known as the Fair of Fairs in a tradition going back to 1690.

The first weekend of the Fair incorporated the fifth edition of the Fira Comarca amb els cinc sentits (Five Senses Area Fair) which gives a new focus on promoting and working on sustainable and local projects.

Linda came to Spain to live when she was 24, just over 52 years ago, and her husband is Spanish. She began writing for English-language local newspapers in the mid-1970s and hasn’t stopped since! She leads a Spanish life, which she believes is vital when conveying the news to English-speaking residents, and along the way she produced two editions of Expand Your Spanish, helping English-speakers to enlarge their knowledge of the language. She was excited to be in at the birth of the Euro Weekly News in 1999 and is still passionately writing for the paper 22 years later.
