An RAF helicopter has been strengthening flood defences in South Yorkshire as weather forecasters warn of more rain over the coming days for the already under water regions.
RAF Odiham posted photos on twitter and Facebook of a Chinook dropping aggregate bags north of Doncaster after the River Don burst its banks last week.
200 Soldiers from 170 Engineer Group are also heading to Bentley to assist in operations as the crisis of flood waters heightens – despite Boris Johnson stating last week it’s not a national emergency.
A rest centre has been set up for troops and emergency services in Stainforth where flood waters in Fishlake are not expected to recede for at least the next 24 hours.
