ORIHUELA has begun work to draft a master plan to become an ‘Intelligent Tourism Destination’.
The Council has held a meeting where the roadmap of the Orihuela Director Plan Intelligent Tourism Destination was presented, which was attended by both the mayor of Orihuela, Emilio Bascuñana, as well as the councillors of the Government Team and municipal employees from different areas.
Celia Romero, co-founder of the company Inteligencia Turística, (which together with the company Enerlis, is responsible project), explained the steps to follow for the drafting of this master plan.
The five points on which the master plan is based are governance, innovation, technology, sustainability and accessibility.
Bascuñana said: “We are taking the preliminary step to mark a course aligned with the Intelligent Tourist Destinations Network of Valencia and the National DTI Network, as Orihuela is a municipality with different tourism products that will incorporate different perspectives and give visibility to the contents through intelligent specialisation.”
The master plan also incorporates a Big Data report through a tool that will incorporate information and contextualization data over a period of time.
The execution of this master plan will allow Orihuela to be incorporated at the highest level with the TDI Model of the Valencian Community that is promoted by Invattur.
