THREE companies have been commended by the Alicante Equality Board.
Cable World Group, Delifinder Group and HEFAME Group were presented with awards at a ceremony held in the Red Cross Hall as part of th ‘X day of awareness and implementation of equal opportunity measures between women and men’ set up by the Board.
This year it revolved around the ‘gender digital divide’. The three companies were commended for their work to ensuring equality in the workplace.
The conference was inaugurated by the Provincial President of the Red Cross in Alicante, Francisco Galvañ, and the councillors for Employment and Equality of Alicante City Council, Mari Carmen de España and María Conejero.
Before the act of recognition to the companies, the+ audience listened to a talk from Nuria Oliver, a Doctor in Artificial Intelligence.
She said: “Women are incorporated in all fields of knowledge, but not in technology or information technology. Both men and women are victims of gender bias: women undervalue themselves, women undervalue other women and men undervalue women.”
