THE Scientific Police of Malaga paid a visit to San Jose School in Velez Malaga to teach students about possible careers in the police force.
Seasoned officer Manuel José Pérez Carmona gave a talk and carried out activities for the students during an informative talk at the school on Friday 1 November.
After an initial ice breaking session, students were informed of the work the police do against the crimes of sexting, cyberbullying and grooming.
The second part of the lecture was more hands on, with students able to take part in “mock” forensic cases and learning how to take their own finger prints, examination of crime scenes and deduction of motives.
The students proved extremely engaged as Carmona explained how they recover bodies from crime scenes and how they use forensic evidence to determine cause of death.
The course also showed as a reminder of the valuable work the Police Force carry out throughout the region.
