A YOUNG man was violently assaulted outside of his workplace on Paseo Marítimo during Halloween night. The incident took place at around 6am on Friday (November 1) in Palma when Juan Antonio Verdera was talking to a colleague outside of the nightclub where he works. Turning around after hearing a scream, the 24-year-old man was stabbed in the neck and punched in the face. After calling for help, Verdera was rushed to Son Espases hospital, where he required 17 stitches to his neck. The alleged aggressor fled from the scene, however officers from the National Police arrested the boy of Moroccan nationality a few metres away from the Paseo Marítimo nightclub. The victim confirmed that the man who had been arrested was the perpetrator of the crime, believing that it was a case of mistaken identity. Sharing a photograph on Facebook of the wound and his bloody shirt, Verdera explained that he works in public relations and that the attack has left him feeling frightened.
