England’s players have come under fire for refusing to wear their runners-up medals after losing the Rugby World Cup final.
England were easily beaten by South Africa’s relentless intensity as their World Cup final ended with a crushing 32-12 defeat in the final at International Stadium Yokohama.
As England were given their runners up medals, lock Itoje did not put the silverware around his neck while Kyle Sinckler immediately ripped his off.
Rugby fans around the world slammed England as sore and bad losers across social media.
Thousands mocked the losing team worldwide.
One wrote: “England having a temper tantrum refusing to wear their medals. Pathetic”
There were several thousand more of similar nature.
Stuart Johnson tweeted ” If you win a silver medal in to 100 metre Olympics final do you throw it away?”
England clearly haven’t done themselves any favours in the publicity stakes thats for sure.
