Auditorium upgrade in Mijas

AUDITORIUM: Announcing the refurbishment  Credit: Ayuntamiento de Mijas

IT had been clear for some time that the open air Auditorium in Mijas Pueblo was in a sad state of repair but having spent €153,000 on renovations, the council is now ready to open it again.

In essence it was run down but more importantly, the electrics were not in a good enough condition to meet current standards and required the temporary installation of generators.

The stage has been expanded, dressing rooms and sanitation improved as well as installation of a new electrical system.

In addition, the seating has been renewed in the colours of the Mijas flag and is much sturdier than that previously in place, so that more than €50,000 has been spent in ensuring that the 1,256 seats are in line with FIFA rules and are easy to clean.

Next year should see a number of great open air concerts for all to enjoy.
