INVESTIGATIONS continue following the discovery of the body of a man found dead in a ditch in Marbella on Sunday. Police have identified the deceased as a Bulgarian citizen, aged between 40 and 50 and having no apparent background in Spain.

A post mortem began on Monday in Malaga where specialists discovered that the body susrained a dozen gunshot wounds, some being entry and others exit wounds. The majority of these are concentrated in the abdomen but were also found in one arm and one leg.

The case has been taken over by the Unit Against Drugs and Organised Crime of Costa del Sol National Police where officers are trying to track any enemies of the victim. As the deceased lacks any history in Spain they are also in contact with Interpol to search for International links.

The man’s body was discovered on Sunday morning at a connection between Istán and Marbella off of the A-7176 road and according to sources the victim had only been dead a few hours.
