CALPE CEMETERY: Ready for All Saints Day Photo credit: Calpe town hall
Flowers for the departed MUNICIPAL workers have been preparing Calpe cemetery ready for All Saints Day, tomorrow Friday November 1. This is the one day of the year when everybody with a deceased loved one, or even a distant ancestor, adorns their graves or niches with flowers. The employees have been painting, repairing niches and improving the lighting as well as tidying flowerbeds and attending to every detail to ensure that the cemetery is a worthy setting for the flower displays. The town hall announced that a fountain has been installed in the new section of the cemetery with water containers so that it is not necessary for those visiting graves to bring water for fresh flowers or plants. The cemetery has been staying open from 8am until 10pm each day since Tuesday so that residents will have enough time to decorate the graves and niches. Tomorrow, Friday, the cemetery will be open from 8am until 8pm.
