GUARDIA Civil have arrested a suspected mugger in Roquetas de Mar.
The Guardia detained the 24-year old for threatening a 19-year old and stealing the teenager’s wallet mid-afternoon in a central Roquetas square in September.
The victim told the Guardia a young man riding an electric motorcycle stopped and came up behind him. He claimed the attacker tried to get him to hand over his wallet, and when he refused the mugger punched him.
A struggle ensued and the victim ended up on the ground. This gave the attacker the opportunity to grab the teenager’s wallet from his trouser pocket and make off.
The teenager needed medical attention for injuries he suffered during the struggle.
Guardia investigations led to the identification of the suspected aggressor as D.E.G. The victim identified him from photographs as his attacker.
