A MAN who was recently released from prison is alleged to have held up a shop at knifepoint, then returned two day later and stolen a customer’s phone.
National Police officers in Alicante have accused the man of stealing the cash register after pulling a knife on a shop assistant.
A few days later police were called again after a man matching the description given in the first incident stole the mobile phone of a client inside the same establishment.
Several patrols belonging to the Response Task Force rushed to the scene and set up a search atound the premises.
They located a person who, upon realising the police presence, started to run and threw away an object that turned out to be the stolen phone.
Police arrested a 34-year-old Spanish man and charged him with crimes of robbery with violence. He has been remanded in custody.
