THE different committees channelling citizens’ participation are currently being set up in Javea.
First to be constituted were the Culture Committee headed by Culture councillor Quico Moragues and the Agricultural Committee presided by Agricultura councillor Marta Bañuls.
All of Javea’s political parties are represented on the Culture Committee including five people were chosen for their “recognised worth” at the last council meeting, Moragues said.
Other committee members include spokespeople from local cultural associations, Agenda 21 and local schools.
The Agricultural Committee is composed of representatives from the political parties present on the local council, the AVA and Unio de Llauradors agricultural unions and members of the local irrigation syndicates.
The two committees will meet every three months or more frequently if needed.
