A 22-year-old woman has been hospitalised at the Álvaro Cunqueiro Hospital and is in a serious condition after being knocked down by an electric scooter
The incident occurred yesterday (Sunday) afternoon in Vigo at 13:58 hours at 86 Camelias Avenue.
According to the Local Police of Vigo, the woman made to cross the road outside a pedestrian area.
It is reported that the driver had no clear vision of the pedestrian and was using the bus lane to circulate in the direction of Plaza América.
As the driver got level to 86 Camelias Avenue, the young woman set out to cross from one side of the road to the other, in an area where there are no visible zebra crossings.
In addition, the driver’s vision of the pedestrian was reduced because the woman crossed in front of a container.
It was at that unfortunate moment that the collision occurred. The accident caused a severe knock to the young woman’s head causing concussion as she fell to the ground.
Local agents were quickly alerted and 061-Sanitary Urgencies arrived swiftly to the site of the accident where they mobilised the victim.
The young woman was then transferred by ambulance to the Álvaro Cunqueiro Hospital “in a serious condition”
