Drugs plantation in Mijas villa

MARIHUANA: HOUSE was turned into a drugs plantation.

A LUXURY Mijas villa was turned in to a marihuana plantation.

National Police officers, working as part of Operation Hamilton against drug trafficking on a medium scale, arrested two men for their alleged involvement in drug trafficking and electricity fraud.

The investigation was started after police received a tip-off about a possible marihuana plantation in a house in Mijas. Once the suspected house was located, the police checked electricity records and verified that the property was fraudulently connected to the electrical supply.

Once the existence of the plantation was verified and the tenants – two Italian men aged 44 and 35 – were fully identified, a police operation was carried out.

A search of the building revealed a plantation with artificial lighting in the basement of the house. There were 511 marihuana plants in advanced stages of growth and flowering.

As well as the drugs, two sets of precision scales, two vacuum packers and two cars were also seized.
