CAPTION  COLOURFUL: Estepona is planting more flowers.

ESTEPONA is being turned into a splash of colour in the coming months.

Or rather 250,000 splashes – this is the number of flowers and colourful shrubs being planted in the autumn and winter seasons.

The council has begun planting the flowers in public green areas explained deputy mayor Blas RuzafaThe work will last until March and operators will place around 50,000 each month.

He added that these plants come from the municipal nursery, which now has a production capacity of more than 500,000 plants a year at a reduced cost.

“The commitment to planting flower species has become one of the hallmarks of the city and undoubtedly contributes to consolidating the project Estepona, Costa del Sol Garden,” he stressed.
The planting will be done in the main avenues, promenade, entrances to Estepona and the squares of the town centre. In total, it is planned to have almost 390,000 sqm of green areas

Much thought has gone into the planting scheme in order to achieve a greater visual attraction that captures the attention of the citizens.
Ruzafa highlighted the good reception of the design of the gardens of the promenade and the main avenues and roundabouts of the city.
