HEALTH staff at the Los Gallardos Health Centre have publicly expressed their anger over a British resident’s verbal attack on one of their doctors.
They staged a five-minute concentration in front of the medical centre to express what Los Gallardos council described on social media as their “rejection of and revulsion over this kind of behaviour.”
The incident reportedly occurred the week before, the target a female doctor.
The Junta de Andalucia’s Health and Families regional ministry has activated the relevant protocol for these kinds of incidents. The doctor in question has at her disposal the advisory services of the person named by the Health and Families provincial delegation as coordinator in cases of attacks on health professionals, Dr Fernando Carrasco, as well as the legal services of the Andalucia government.
The Junta recently created the position of coordinator to serve as a useful tool for health professionals in assisting and accompanying them in the process of making a complaint in these kinds of cases.
