Tourism boost move in Alicante

Tourism boost move

ALICANTE council wants its Easter celebrations declared of National Tourist Interest.

The council has asked its department of festivities to start the process, hoping that it will give the city a tourism boost.

But success is by no means certain, with a previous attempt in May 2001 being turned down by the Secretary of State for Trade and Tourism for a lack of the documentation needed.

The regional government gave the city the ‘honorary’ title in 2009, but Alicante wants it made official.
