LOW-BUDGET Pizza by Iñaki Rekarte and Aitor de Kintana won Teulada-Moraira’s Curts de Moscatell short film competition. Voted Best Film, Best Script and chosen as Favourite Film by the public, Pizza has also been nominated for a Goya, Spain’s Oscars. The €3,500 Vila de Teulada prize for young writers went to Joan Torro for his book, Secrets, which has now been published by Bromera while the €4,000 Art Award was shared between Pepa Caselles, Blanca Hernando and Ruben M Riera. The Investigation prize of a €4,000 grant was presented to Maria Jose Auñon who, as she received the prize, stressed the importance of studying, revitalising and investing in the Teulada’s Old Quarter, the Marina Alta’s only historic complex with Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC) status.
