Tasers Launched In Spain

The General Directorate of the Guardia Civil has selected seven groups to be trained in the safe and correct use of Taser guns over a two-day period in Madrid.

One of the chosen groups are the Citizen Security Unit from Torrevieja, with five members nominated to receive training, along with colleagues from Madrid and Logroño.

They will then trial the devices in active service for twenty days to see how matters pan out before possible national launch when the training will be rolled out to other Guardia Civil groups in due course, including National Police officers.
Tasers operate by two electric pins being fired to the body of the offender rather than a bullet which shocks the offender to the ground.
