OCTOBER is classical music month in Alfaz, dedicated to the Mozartmania festival which this year celebrates its 29th edition.
The annual event pays homage to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig Van Beethoven, answering Alfaz’s continuing demand for classical music, explained the town hall’s Culture councillor Manuel Casado.
The festival got off to a good start with the Mozart Kids event for children and families which was held at the children’s public library in Alfaz, with Blai Senabre narrating stories on musical themes.
A Mozartmania recital has been held vat the Casa de Cultura each Saturday and concludes this weekend with the Valencia Conservatoire Orchestra and the pianist Pierre-Laurent Boucharlat.
Together they will be presenting the premiere of the award-winning local composer Juan Francisco Tortosa’s work, Mikado.
This is musical interpretation of the exotic conclusion of the Japanese imperial court and, by extension, the emperor Akihito, the empress Michito, crown prince Naruhito and crown princess Masako.
