THE Diputación de Málaga has awarded the IES Los Montes de Colmenar for their short film in favour of gender equality.

The competition, promoted by the ‘Talent Woman Challenge: We Create Equality’ programme, involved adolescents in the province raising awareness in the struggle for gender equality.

More than 100 students from across the region participated in the challenge which was eventually won by the IES Los Montes de Colmenar High School.

In the short film, a group of girls give individual messages related to equal opportunities in different areas of daily life such as sport, home, work and relationships. They also advocate breaking stereotypes, giving messages of hope for the future and dream of an end to male violence.

The winners received a trip to the Warner Park for their efforts.

Along with the film competition, more than 450 students took part in workshops on gender equality throughout the academic year, teaching them through audio visual projects and oral based activities.
