Recycling For Research In Palma

TEN pink containers for recycling glass have been distributed in five places around the city of Palma for cancer research. 
The containers have been installed in Plaza de Santa Eulalia, Plaza de España, Porta de Santa Catalina, Plaza Paris and Plaza de Born. The pink containers have been installed to collect glass for the “Recycle for them” campaign organised by Ecovidrio for the second year in collaboration with Emaya and the City Council of Palma. 
The containers will be in these locations for the next two weeks and the collected glass from the containers will be donated to the Sandra Ibarra foundation for breast cancer research and turned into money. Mini recycling containers designed by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada have also been put up for sale, the profits from which will be used for the same purpose. 
The campaign is being rolled out in 80 towns in Spain with a total of 200 containers.According to data provided by Ecovidrio, in 2018 Palma recycled a total of 9,232,480 kilos of waste glass which means an average of 22.5 kilos per inhabitant.
