Firefighter suffers severe burns whilst tackling raging fire Credit Twitter
A FIREFIGHER has been injured in the fire that broke out earlier this afternoon at the Guadalhorce Industrial Estate.
An explosion from a nearby caravan site, which caused a spectacular and dense plume of black smoke triggering alarm in the city as it was visible all along the seafront, has provoked first degree burns to one of the deployed firefighters.
A blast which erupted from one of the vehicles affected by the fire provoked the serious injuries.
According to local media, the man has suffered first and second degree burns to one of his legs.
He was swiftly attended by fellow firefighters and ambulance crew on site and then transferred to the Clinical Hospital, located near the site of the fire.
40 firefighters from Malaga were displaced to tackle the raging flames and were joined by a further nine deployed by the Infoca Plan.
