“BEFORE you share anything about the Poppy appeal this year please know the facts. It is not a religious nor political tool It does not support war just those who died, their families, and those injured mentally and physically by conflict. It signifies losses in all conflicts and peacekeeping alike. Never have sales of poppies been prevented in any community All creeds, colours, nationalities and religions died for the freedom we enjoy today So before you share. Please think. Don’t allow politicians. Racial hate groups or xenophobics to hijack a charity to help those desperately in need. Do one thing please. Support us. And educate those that believe the lies. Thank you.” Neal Toplis President RBL Southern Spain District The Royal British Legion – Southern Spain
The Poppy Appeal is the Royal British Legion’s biggest fundraising campaign held every year in November, the period of Remembrance.
The main fundraising events during the Poppy Appeal are all about bringing communities together to fundraise and enjoy themselves in the process.
Numerous cities across the UK and globally dedicate a day to distributing poppies and getting the public involved through activities and entertainment.
The Poppy Appeal provides support for members of the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, veterans and their families.
By donating to The Royal British Legion, you help them to aid those in need within the Armed Forces community; service and ex-service personnel and their families.
Every penny raised provides much-needed support for the Armed Forces community.
