Pedals to the fore
THE Vuelta de Alicante cycling race has been rescheduled for December 14 and 15.
The seventh edition of the race was due to take place on September 14 and 15 but was cancelled because of the flooding emergency experienced in the Vega Baja.
Juanjo Mendiola, president of the Club Ciclista Paco López, organiser of the event, said that it will be an open competition and people can register at [email protected]
The first stage, which will be run on December 14, will start at 3 pm in Salinas. The VII Moors and Christians Trophy be will be raced along 100.30 kilometres finishing at the hermitage of San Isidro. On Sunday 15th, the Memorial Paco López Pina will be raced in Petrer. It will take place on a semi-urban circuit of 3.7 kilometres with a total distance of 72 kilometres.
Organisers say the race will return to its normal slot next year.
