Pinktober Launched To Raise Funds For Breast Cancer Care And Research

SOLIDARITY with breast cancer sufferers has been declared in a fund-raising campaign aimed at young people in Marbella.

The annual Pinktober event is promoted by Hard Rock with the support of the local town hall. Councillor for Youth, Enrique Rodríguez, launched this year ́s event with Gabriel Moya of Hard Rockand the president of the president of the Association for the Care of Women with Breast Cancer Paqui Aguilar.

Mr Aguilar welcomed the initiative which raises funds for breast cancer research and support for services such psychological care, workshops and physiotherapy which are offered to women throughout the province through the association. Mr Aguilar said: “It is an initiative that has all our support for its social component and because the programme is committed to young talent with concerts by local bands .

”The scheduled events will take place at the venue itself and will include two solidarity concerts by bands from the San Pedro Alcántara Academy ‘Rock Factory’, which will take place on October 13 and 27, from 12.00 to 13.30. In addition, members of the association will offer a free craft workshop on October 18. Mr Moya has thanked the support of Marbella council and said that this year’s proceeds will go to the association.
