A Spaniard Who Has Devoted His Life To Hunting And Killing Animals Around The World

Spaniard who has devoted his life to hunting and killing animals around the world.

THE former president of Sanitas, Marcial Gómez Sequeira sold his shares for the equivalent in pesetas of €130 million so that he could devote more time to hunting and killing animals.

This was in 1988 and since then he has travelled around the world collecting ‘trophies’ and in that time he thinks that he has killed several thousand animals comprising more than 400 species and he has surrounded himself with their stuffed bodies.

Now at the age of 79 he has decided that he can do something useful with his collection by opening a museum in the popular hunting province of Extremadura where it is estimated that 10 per cent of the entire population hold hunting licences.

The Gómez Sequeira Martial Collection Hunting Museum will be opened in the Cavalry Barracks in the town of Olivenza and may well be the biggest collection of its kind anywhere in the world.
