Swimmer Dies at Galua Beach
A WOMAN of about 70 years of age died earlier this week after being rescued from the water at Galua beach in Cartagena.
The deceased had been pulled from the sea together with another swimmer when they both got into difficulties.
The event took place around 5.15pm. Firefighters were alerted by 112 emergency line operators, and they raced to the scene.
They rescued the two people but the woman then had a heart attack once ashore.
Firefighters gave her CPT until an ambulance arrived, but the victim could not be revived.
