Flood Victims To Receive Rent Aid
ORIHUELA’S regional government has allocated €500,000 to help those made homeless by the recent floods pay their rent.
Subsidies of between €420 and €490 per month were approved at a plenary session last Friday and are intended for residents of the Vega Baja and Vall d’Albaida
An assessment of the general state of housing was made in the two weeks following the storm, with some properties declared uninhabitable and irreparable.
This situation has forced large numbers of people to leave their homes permanently. Therefore, the Generalitat has allocated half a million euros of its own funds, with the aim of enabling them to find dignified” alternative accommodation.
Only one application for aid per dwelling may be submitted. The documentation must be presented in the post-emergency coordination offices or in local town halls, preferably where the home is located.
At the same time, the regional government has approved aid for another 16 municipalities, with total of €10 million set aside for urgent work.
