Gender Violence And Drug Charges In El Ejido
POLICE arrested a man for assaulting his wife and for growing marijuana at the family home in El Ejido. 
The detention came after the 42-year old wife went to the police station in the early hours of the morning to report her husband had physically attacked her. Police said she had injuries to her cheekbone and brow, for which she needed medical attention. 
Police officers accompanied the woman home to collect her personal belongings after she told them she wanted to move out. When they arrived they found not only the 53-year husband, who officers arrested, but also some 260 marijuana plants growing in one of the rooms.
