BENALFEST (11 – 12 October, Los Nadales, Benalmadena Pueblo).

Fangoria tops the line-up for the second edition of Benalfest.

An ideal festival for the young and not so young. Local Councillor María Isabel Ruiz has stated that “we want all residents of this municipality to feel part of this festival and to be proud of it with the possibilities of participating in all the activities offered”

Fangoria heads a line-up that also includes Nancy Rubias, Villanueva, We Are Not DJ’s, Olivia, Bauer and Koel, as well as a surprise group who will offer a free performance on Saturday morning.

The Benalmadena Youth Councillor, Maria Isabel Ruiz, and Javier Ajenjo, organizer of Benalfest and other musical events such as the successful Sonorama Ribera, have presented this week the second edition of Benalfest, to be held on 11 and 12 October in the park of Los Nadales in Benalmádena Pueblo.

BENALBABY:

Running parallel, Benalbaby is a festival for the youngest members of the family, with the Quimirock show, a way for children to value culture and enjoy a different morning. The ticket to Benalbaby will have a symbolic price of 1 euro, and the money raised will go to the association Afab.

NATIONAL POLICE DAY:

Mayor Victor Navas and councillor Javier Marin participated in the institutional event.

Victor Navas recognised the success of the local police in safeguarding the the popular tourist area, one of the municipalities of reference in the Andalusian community, guaranteeing the safety of visitors throughout the summer months when the locality triples in population.

The mayor also took the opportunity to highlight “the urgent need for Benalmadena’s own National Police Station”

EQUALITY

Conferences geared for women entrepreneurs begins.

CADE’s (Centre for Business Support and Development) technical staff offers this training to Benalmádena entrepreneurs interested in defining, planning and/or executing their business project.

SOCIAL WELFARE

Social welfare will distribute 400 tickets for ‘The Berlin Circus’ amongst families of economic vulnerability

“Thanks to the collaboration of the Berlin Circus, we will ensure that all children in Benalmadena have equal opportunities to enjoy this family show,” said Councillor for Social Welfare, Alicia Laddaga.

Functions 3 – 10 October.

CULTURE

This weekend, two workshops will take place in the local library.

The first of these, “Learn to make better decision”, will take place on Friday 4 October from 18:00 to 20:00 hours. Places are limited, to participate you need to register in advance.

The second workshop will take place on Saturday 5 October from 11:30h. to 13:30h. Places are limited until full capacity is reached in strict order of arrival.

This second workshop, “Much more than series”, is an activity that has as its main objective the promotion and consolidation of reading among Secondary, High School and Professional Education students, using television fiction as a stimulus mechanism.
