Over 200 Elvis fans are expected to flock to the Sunset Beach Moonlight bar in Benalmadena tonight to remember their hero in a show called ” Remembering Elvis”

We at the Euro Weekly News caught up with local talented performer Ricky Lavazza for an interview before tonights show.

GS. So Ricky whats this show all about then?

RL. Well, this is a show where we can all remember Elvis Presley the King of Rock N Roll, he was, of course, the greatest so once a year we honour his memory with Elvis fans from across the coast.

GS. 200 tickets sold, clearly, he’s still popular then after all these years gone by, you must be pleased in regards tonights attendance?

RL. It just goes to show how many Elvis fans there are along the coast really, yes I’m pleased but it’s not about me really, it’s a show where we can all remember our idol.

GS. Do people turn up dressed as Elvis?

RL. Well, I do! (laughs) but yes over the years we have had a few, it’s great to see many dressed in 50s and 60s clobber as well coming for fun as well as remembrance.

GS. So in regards to the show how much preparation goes into it?

RL. 8 weeks on average to design and put the show together which I do myself with the assistance of my wife, each year we change it around a bit to keep it entertaining, this year, for instance, I’m flying in singers from Wales especially for the show.

In regards, the stage set up we normally have it prepared 3 days before the show but a little later this year as a certain newspaper was abseiling from the roof! (chuckles) weren’t the team from the Euro Weekly News fantastic though even got to see Spiderman, I might grab him for a show!

GS. Yes, it was a great effort for such a great cause too, so then Ricky back to tonight, what songs can we expect?

RL. I’m going to cover as many as possible ranging through the different era’s, cramming in as many as possible but I can’t give the song list away as the wife will kill me!

GS. Ah ok, fair enough I guess but I’m sure all the old classics will be performed?

RL. Oh yes, baby oh yes! here’s a comp for you George, come and see for yourself!

GS. Thanks, Ricky and I will take you up on that, thanks for allowing me backstage and thanks for the interview, break a leg!

Whilst 200 tickets have been sold for the remembering of Elvis, limited tickets will be available on the door or can be reserved beforehand by calling 0034 695887366
