A VIOLENT robber who targeted businesses including a nursing home has been arrested.

National Police arrested a 20-year-old Spanish man in Benalmadena who is suspected of carrying out a string of robberies with force.

The hooded robber would break into premises in the early hours of the morning and steal cash and valuables.

The police investigation began on September 15 following after a robbery was reported at a nursing home.

He had broken into the office area of the residence but was disturbed by employees who he then threatened before escaping with valuables.

The investigations carried out by police led to the arrest of a local man.

Following his arrest, the police looked at similar crimes in the area and linked the man to seven other robberies  – two of them committed the same night of September 15 – moments after stealing from the nursing home.

The suspect is to appear in court at a due date.
