Warning of bogus officials posing as Hidralia inspectors in Estepona

water workers Hidralia Credit: Hidralia

BOGUS water officials are targeting homes in Estepona.

The water company Hidralia has issued a warning to householders of impostors dressed similarly to their employees calling at properties in the area.

Reports from customers have revealed that the con artists enter people´s homes to check pipes in search of non-existent water supply faults.

Householders are informed that the inspection is necessary as the property has been flagged up as one with unexpectedly high usage and that the inspection is intended to help reduce bills.

Hidralia has posted on social media reminding customers that they would only issue an alert of excessive consumption following a meter reading which would not require an internal inspection of pipes.

In cases were an internal leak is suspected, householders would receive written notification from Hidralia inviting customers to contact the company.

Anyone who suspects they have been visited by bogus officials should contact Hidralia who will report cases to the police.

In case of doubt customers should call the company on 900 555 566 or 900 555 565.
