Last Month (September) The Most Popular For Weddings But Also For Divorces

AS we move into the middle of the first week of October and the romantic summer nights start to cool as the autumn season takes over, it’s interesting to note that even though more than 50,000 people get married (annually in Spain) during the month of September. It is also the month of most divorces.

In a year, some 165,000 couples in Spain promise ’till death do us part’ and September is the most popular month of the year to say ‘I do’ with couples opting for a more autumn look, milder weather and natural light for those much prized wedding pics, which can tally up a euro or three thousand.

In fact the actual cost per wedding is about 25,000 euro. The dress alone can sometimes exceed 8000€

Unfortunately it also seems that most marital ruptures occur just after the holidays as well.

Of the 100,000 divorces signed last year, 30% were initiated in September.
